Consider
a Ladies’ Night IN for a change, or a summer
day camp for the kids!
A pot of hot tea, a bright shiny swatch of vinyl,
a glass of wine, a few fabulous beads, some cookies,
some lace, a vintage crazy-patterned shirt found at
Goodwill, some embroidery thread, and good company
of course… sounds like the ingredients for a
great evening. If you agree, then maybe we should
plan a party. You organize your friends and a place
to play -- the kitchen table works well -- and I’ll
bring a stash of fabric and fibers and an easy project
idea. Contact me! (Button at bottom of text)

Inspiration for the Stitch Party
Something magical happens when folks get together
and make something with their hands. I discovered
this again personally a couple of years ago when I
attended ArtFiberFest, a creative retreat for people
who work and play in the fiber arts. As the days’
workshops ended, we gathered around tables and sofas
into the early morning hours to continue stitching
and talking, telling stories and jokes while our hands
threaded, hooked, crocheted, embroidered, beaded,
etc. My enjoyment of that experience made me realize
that this creative kinship is sadly missing in our
hectic lives. Wouldn’t it be fun to gather with
friends every now and again around a stitching project?
I have some ideas for some fun projects which require
little or no sewing with a machine. The fun is in
mixing materials, hand stitching beads and details,
or altering something you already own. Check out my
party ideas below.
